Glass Fiber Dosing Study

About the client

A major industrial site specialized in the production of high‑quality fire‑resistant and insulating materials.

Problem statement

The client was operating outdated glass fiber dosing systems that worked according to a batch principle, which led to fiber agglomeration, blockages in the piping downstream of the reactor and reduced process reliability. These failures also negatively affected product quality and introduced safety issues.

Our solution

We developed a solution enabling accurate and continuous dosing of glass fiber. A complete budget study was carried out, including the costs for the new dosing systems, platform modifications, electrical adaptations and installation and commissioning works.

All potential savings were defined and quantified, forming the basis for an ROI calculation and a high‑level planning to support the investment decision. At the end of the study, a presentation was prepared to submit the full proposal to the board for budget approval. The follow‑up of the project execution was also entrusted to PX Consulting.
